Hello there, my name is Bilal Bham. I am from northwest England (UK) and have been self-employed since 2011 after I had the (mis)fortune of being made redundant twice in the space of 9 months, in 2 different countries! I decided then that I would take and retain full control of my life – hence my motto – “My Life, My Rules!”
I run 2 boutique businesses in the pharmaceutical industry, both focused on delivering exceptional communication. I am also following my other passions and developing ventures in food and fashion. I do all of this from home keeping a healthy work-life balance, this allows me to spend time with family whilst keeping a close eye on my businesses.
Wealth is relative, and we don’t need much beyond the basics of shelter, food, water and amenities to survive. I come from a humble background; Dad was registered as disabled, Mum was his registered carer and we survived on benefits, but I never felt poor. Mum and Dad ensured I had everything I needed to live and prosper. Wealth isn’t just money, it’s a mindset.
I am big into health and fitness, and at 6am every weekday morning, you’ll find me in the gym! It’s not for everyone but it works for me! Nutrition is also a huge part of my life. I eat by numbers meaning that I ensure I hit my daily calories and macros (protein, carbs and fats) through a healthy, varied and tasty diet to give my body what it needs to look and feel the way it does. You can check out what I eat on my foodblog!
I manage my time effectively following a pretty regimented routine from Monday to Friday, whilst being more relaxed at weekends. Typically, my days are: train, work, eat, rest, sleep, repeat! I maintain a balance of around 8 to 10 hours of work, 6 to 8 hours of sleep, and 4 to 8 hours rest, recuperation, and recreation time, so my mind and body function like I want them to.
I have failed my way to success in life. I have had hugely successful times, professionally and personally, and hugely unsuccessful ones. I enjoyed life when times were easy but I learned a lot more about myself and life when times were tough! I am happy and grateful for all of my experiences in making me the person I am today and making success relative.
I have always been process-driven and strategy-oriented. My simple formula is to plan, do, review, and repeat. Organisation has underpinned all of my successes, and the lack of it my failures. I have been meticulous in documenting everything I have done, from revision plans during my education, to workout plans in the gym, to my daily diet, and even my daily work plan!
I don’t claim to be an expert on anything. I loathe the monikers people use for themselves such as “expert” or “guru” or “King/Queen” of something! They may well know a lot but they will never know everything. I know a little about a lot. I see myself as a specialist in some areas, but in most, I am simply happy to share what has worked for me and others.
I have learned much from my own successes and failures. Consequently, I have developed lifestyle strategies combining my learnings which I have tried and tested for myself. With some tweaks to your life, I believe we can successfully implement these lifestyle strategies, and help you to enjoy all of the wealth, health, time, and success you desire!
